Mongolian Tax Administration’s representatives
participated an annual 47th SGATAR meeting in the Republic of the Philippines
Study
Group on Asian Taxation Administration and Research /SGATAR/ is an organization with 17 members from the Asia-Pacific
Region with purpose of providing a forum for revenue authorities to improve the
administration of revenue collection and sharing of experiences among such
registered members as Australia,
Cambodia, People’s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Japan, Macao SAR, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua
New Guinea, Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The General Department of Taxation started to participate
in the SGATAR meetings as an observer from 2008 within the framework to develop
cooperation with tax authorities of foreign countries and international
organizations and obtain assistance from them. It joined as a member from the
40th meeting in 2010 and is now regularly involving its
activities.
The SGATAR organizes joint meetings and seminars yearly
to discuss three (3) main issues that are critical to the tax authorities of
the member countries through the meetings and workshops upon presentation by a
member country.
Annual SGATAR’s 47th meeting was held in the
Republic of the Philippines on November 27, 2017 and 7-member team representing
the Mongolian tax administration attended the event.
The meeting exchanged information and shared experiences
on three (3) topics:
1. Identifying and addressing issues on Transactions involving
Intangibles
2. Information management
and utilization
3. Human resources in tax administration
During the meetings and workshops, representatives from
the Mongolian Tax Administration team held official and informal meetings with
representatives from Japan, China, Malaysia, Australia and Korea, as well as
delegates from the Asian Development Bank and the Organization for Economic
Co-operation and Development.
